ALEXANDRE PAIVA “GIGI” SEMINAR
Alexandre “Gigi” Paiva is a figure of extreme importance in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu‘s history, not only was he one of the founding members of the multiple world champion team Alliance, he also coached several important grapplers, such as Fernando “Tereré”, Leonardo Leite, Mitsuyoshi Hayakawa among many others, including his own son Vitor Genovesi. Paiva is also the founder of the most successful Jiu Jitsu team with 12 world championship titles.
Born in 1967, Alexandre Paiva, also known as “Gigi” began his career in Jiu Jitsu at the age of 15. At 17, he became an instructor at the Jacaré Jitsu Academy. In 1991 he earned his black belt. In 1993 he was one of the founders of the Alliance team alongside Fabio Gurgel and master Romero Jacaré. Gigi has since earned the 6th degree black belt in Jiu Jitsu. He is married to Daniela Genovesi who is also a black belt world champion and is the father of three children. Master Gigi is an athlete of many titles. He is known for by everyone not only for his technique but for his family, style of being, and his friendliness.
